Our team of portrait artists is comprised of the top talents in the Charlotte region. Each artist is expertly trained and qualified in our house portrait style, which is inspired by the cinematic close-up and applies the conventions of headshots for actors and models to all professions. An accomplished administrator, Michelle really is the brains of our operation. She is a visionary leader with a passion for innovation and driving organizational success.
In 2018, Michelle made the bold choice to leave a decade-long career in banking and finance to pursue entrepreneurship, taking over all the business aspects of Fenix Fotography and working to grow the studio’s capacity and systems.
Michelle's leadership style is characterized by integrity, empathy, and a relentless pursuit of excellence, inspiring confidence and driving results at every level of the organization.
Ryan Sumner
Founding Photographer & Creative Director
Ryan started Fenix Fotography as a side hustle—but after the Great Recession halted an earlier career, he refocused his life and decided to follow a new set of dreams. He leveraged skills he’d learned creating headshots for model-actor agencies into regular work for lifestyle magazines, creating fashion editorials and other types of news stories before transitioning to business periodicals where Ryan created hundreds of photographic essays featuring business, civic, and cultural leaders. Ryan has studied with some of the world’s top master photographers, including one of New York’s best-known headshot maker. His specialty areas are on-location studio headshots, environmental executive portraits, business-in-action photojournalism, and images of aircraft and architecture.
Aleigha Tucker
Lead Photographer
Aleigha is a vibrant individual who thrives on connecting with people, capturing their authentic expressions and personalities in a relaxed setting. Her enthusiasm shines through in her work, creating a warm and genuine atmosphere that seamlessly translates into each image she creates.
Moreover, Aleigha’s headshot work has won multiple awards in one of the industry’s main online contests, which attracts international participation. In addition, she is highly skilled in managing digital imagery, having had a previous career in Video Game Design.
Before honing her expertise in headshots and branding images, Aleigha cultivated her camera and storytelling skills in the fast-paced world of wedding photography—skills she continues to tap into for our corporate events, trade shows, and theatre clientele.
